A group exhibition, titled ‘Artistic Emergence’, opened at ARTCITI Gallery on 26th September, 2019. Nine extremely talented and skillful artists participated in this show and collaboratively displayed various traditional aspects of Pakistan.
Amberin Asad Javaid & Samreen Wahedna worked simultaneously to draw attention to Islamic art and its architecture. Inspired by historical manuscripts, their works consisted of calligraphy and geographic patterns beautifully put together on paper. Similarly, Muhammad Saeed Ghani used Quranic verses to talk about harmony and movement.
Oil paintings of Faheem Ahmed, Tahir Bilal Ummi and Tooba Bashir included beautiful sceneries, fortresses, and camels amongst other things. The beauty of Pakistan was further explored in watercolour medium by Muntehaa Azad and Sadia Arif.
Doda Baloch took on a contrasting approach by creating monochromatic charcoal drawings that contained sketches of men from Balochistan as well as horses in different postures.
This show continues till 28th September, 2019
